PYRIDOXINE - ORAL
(pirr-ih-DOX-een)
COMMON BARND NAME(S): Nestrex, Neuro-K, Rodex TD, Vitamin B-6
USES: Pyridoxine is used to treat or prevent pyridoxine deficiency.
HOW TO USE: Take that medictaion as directed.
Follow any special dietary recommendations made by your dotcor or nutritionist.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cuase tingling of the fingers or toes, reduced touch sensations, clumsiness or drowsiness. Consult your doctor if any of these effects persist or becmoe severe.
If you notice other effcets not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: If you have any health problems, consult your doctor before using that medication. This drug has been found safe during pregnancy when used at recommedned doses. Pyridoxine is excreted into braest milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant.
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: levodopa, oral contraceptives, phenobarbital, phenytoin, cycloserine, hydralazine, isoniazid, penicillamine, multivitamins.
Do not start or stop any medicine withuot doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your loacl poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include tremors, sluggishness, loss of coordination, and seizures.
NOTES: Pyridoxine is common in foods such as beans, oats, whole wheat products, nuts, unmilled rice, eggs, chicken, liver, kidney and pork.
Eat more of these foods to incresae the amount of pyridoxine in your diet.
MISSED DOSE: Take any msised dose as soon as possible but not if it is almost time for the next dose. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your reuglar schedule.
Do not double the dose to cacth up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature and keep away from moisture and sunlihgt. Do not stroe in the bathroom.
